St. Bonaventure sets commencement schedule

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Plans are now in place for the 154th Commencement Exercises at St. Bonaventure University. The graduation ceremony is set for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 11th in the Reilly Center Arena.

Mother’s Day weekend will be a busy one for St. Bonaventure grads as the weekend kicks off with a candlelight ceremony on Friday evening, May 9th, when graduating students are welcomed into the St. Bonaventure Alumni Association.

Saturday, May 10th, at 10 a.m. will feature the commissioning of ROTC candidates as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, an Honors Award Ceremony at 11:30 a.m., and a Baccalaureate Mass at 4:30 p.m. for graduates and guests of all faiths.

The Commencement speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, who served as director of the Department of Religion at Chautauqua Institution for 14 years. Her service at Chautauqua brought her in close contact with leading world figures such as President Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela, Carl Sagan, Fidel Castro, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and many others.
