Police ask for tips in Grand Island collision

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police are asking for help as they investigate a hit and run in Grand Island that left a man with head injuries.

Troopers responded to a report of the man, 58, being struck as he walked north on the shoulder of Grand Island Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, near Bedell Road.  Police say a vehicle heading north struck him.  Witnesses say the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder before it hit the man.

An ambulance took the pedestrian to Erie County Medical Center with head injuries.
