BROCTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Investigators in Chautauqua County are working to figure how a house in Brocton caught fire. At least three people were inside when the fire started at the two-family home on Highland Avenue, Sunday. Crews from several different fire companies helped make sure everyone made it out safely.

Brocton Fire Chief Jim Rizzo said, “This was a quick moving fire, upon arrival, really, really heavy smoke. The guys had a quick response here from surrounding departments, put a quick attack on the fire, and did a great job, put it out in good time.”

Investigators are still working to determine how much damage the fire caused.
