Police determine attack report was unfounded

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Jamestown Police have closed a case they reported Tuesday morning. Police say the case was unfounded and a woman involved in the case will now undergo a mental health evaluation.

It was reported that the female jogger was behind Chautauqua Brick when a robber struck her in the head with a rock. The woman reported she was threatened with a knife before her iPod and engagement ring were stolen.

Police later reported the woman had made up the story due to an emotional issue she suffered from.
