Landfills may become golf course

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – We may learn Tuesday whether two landfills near Tifft Street, in South Buffalo, will see new life as a golf course.

The Buffalo Urban Development Corporation is meeting to talk about whether there’s enough room on these 200 acres of brownfields for a golf course or driving range.

The city has already begun working with a contracting firm that has experience turning landfills into golf courses. If this project tee’s off, the nine-hole course at South Park would likely move to this location. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
