New restaurants planned near Williamsville Mill

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Williamsville Water Mill is likely soon to be flanked by two new restaurants.

The Buffalo News reports a well-known Buffalo restaurateur, Mike Shatzel, has leased a space at 78 Spring Street which he plans to convert into a craft beer bar. Shatzel owns the Liberty Hound on Buffalo’s waterfront as well as Cole’s and the Blue Monk and is developing several properties on Allen Street.

Plans are also afoot to lease another storefront, recently vacated by Coffee Culture to the owners of Tabree Restaurant. That may be reborn as an oyster bar.

Williamsville recently inked a deal with Sweet Jenny’s to operate in the historic water mill building which will serve as a hub for a Village Square. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
