CARROLLTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Bradford, Pennsylvania woman has pleaded not guilty to injuring a 19-month-old girl by violently shaking her.
In February, the little girl was brought to Women and Children’s Hospital for head trauma, which doctors determined was caused by violent shaking. Jessica Courteau, the girlfriend of the baby’s father, has pleaded not guilty to first degree assault, reckless assault of a child, first degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say the 22-year-old woman attacked the infant at a home in the Town of Carrollton.
Courteau is due back in court at a later date.
