Deputies: Man fled scene driving 100 MPH

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – Deputies say an intoxicated driver fled the scene of a property damage accident going 100 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.

Tyler Rice, 40, was stopped on Whitehaven Road and arrested on charges of DWI, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana, and several other vehicle and traffic violations. Deputies say Rice refused a breath test and was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office did not state what Rice struck before he allegedly fled.
