Two men die in separate shootings three hours apart in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) – Police in Rochester say they’re investigating the fatal shootings of two men that occurred within hours of each other.

Officials say the first shooting occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday outside a business on Lyell Avenue. Police say a man was shot twice in the upper torso after arguing with another man in a parking lot. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour after being shot.

The second shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Cedarwood Towers apartment complex. Police say the man apparently had been involved in an altercation with another man when he was shot.

The victim ran into the apartment building’s lobby. He was taken to Strong Memorial, where he was pronounced dead.
