Buffalo comes in third in Golden Snow Globe contest


BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo didn’t take top prize in the annual Golden Snow Globe contest, but the Queen City did place in the top 3.

The Golden Snow Globe determines which city in the United States with more than 100,000 people received the most snow in the 2013-2014 season. This year’s winner was Erie, Pennsylvania with 138.4 inches of snow.

Second place was Syracuse, which had 132 inches of snow, followed closely by Buffalo with 129.9 inches.

Rochester placed fifth with 112.7 inches of snow, behind Grand Rapids, Michigan, which had 116 inches of snow this year.
