Four in custody after traffic stop

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Four people were taken into custody after a traffic stop on I-190 in Buffalo, Thursday night.

Erie County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and discovered the driver, 25-year-old Emmanuel E. Diaz, has seven suspensions on his driver’s license. Deputies say his passengers, 29-year-old Miosoti Velazquezquinon and 24-year-old Angel A. Oquendo, both were wanted on outstanding warrants.

During the investigation, deputies say family member 28-year-old Rene Garciarivera arrived on the scene. They determined Garciarivera also had a warrant out for his arrest.

Diaz was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $250 bail for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. His passengers were turned over to the Buffalo Police to answer their warrants and Velazquezquinon was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held for arraignment on her traffic warrant. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
