Niagara County sheriff chats with citizens

WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office hosted “Coffee with a Cop” on Friday. Residents were invited to stop by and discuss community issues.

Sheriff James Voutour and deputies chatted with customers at the Tim Hortons on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Wheatfield.

“We want it to be relaxing, and obviously it’s relaxing for the cops because there’s coffee and donuts. So that’s a great thing,” the sheriff joked.

He says a lot of people came into the coffee and bake shop on Friday, and that he and deputies say down with some kids and older adults to talk to them.
