Police: Man going 20 MPH over limit had 2X legal BAC

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a man was driving 20 miles an hour over the speed limit when he was stopped and placed under arrest for drunk driving.

Just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, troopers stopped Luis Olmedo for going 65 MPH in a 45 MPH zone on Camp Road in Hamburg. Police say the 27-year-old was drunk.

According to authorities, a breath test later revealed Olmedo’s BAC to be .16 percent, which is twice the legal limit.

He is due back in court at a later date.
