BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A former Buffalo Bills great wants to make sure the team stays in town. The anticipation is building, and News 4 will be working to find out exactly what Bills great Thurman Thomas has apparently done to keep the team here in Buffalo.

Thomas told ESPN he’s been working with other unnamed people to keep the Bills in Buffalo.

ESPN Bills reporter Mike Rodak tweeted what Thomas said, “I have done something that will help the team to stay in Buffalo, I just can’t tell you exactly what I’ve been doing.”

Since Ralph Wilson died there’s been speculation and efforts underway to decide the teams future, and Thomas said he believes Wilson might have already had some kind of plan in place.

“I will tell you this, I have done something that will have the team to stay in Buffalo. I just can’t tell you exactly what I’ve been doing or who I’ve been talking to,” said Thomas.

Thomas said, “I think Mr. Wilson, before he passed, always had something worked out to keep the team in Buffalo. I think it’s going to take someone really special, that has ties to the Buffalo Bills to stay in the Buffalo Bills area.”

Thomas tweeted, “Just trying to cover every angle that I can to make sure the Bills stay in wny… #thatshowiroll.”
