Child Care Resource Network honors 10 groups

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Child care professionals and organizations in Western New York were recognized Tuesday night for making a difference.

The Child Care Resource Network honored 10 groups at an awards dinner, including the Boys and Girls Club of Black Rock/Assumption. They won Program of the Year for School Age Children.

Club Director Franco Balassone said, “In many ways we’re like the second home for students. Sometimes we’re the bridge between school and parents. You know parents have to work. A lot of our families are single parent households, so we bridge the gap between the school and the parents.”
