Marcell Dareus charged with felony drug possession in Alabama

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Cleburne County Jail in Alabama tells News 4 that Buffalo Bills DL Marcell Dareus was arrested Monday night on felony charges of drug possession.

Dareus was taken into custody in Cleburne County by a state trooper for being in possession of synthetic cannabis, or “spice,” according to a report from WVUA. He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released in 45 minutes after posting $3,000 bail.

Dareus attended high school in Birmingham, and played college football for the University of Alabama. He signed a four-year deal with the Bills in 2011.
