State, city reach agreement on Riverbend site

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A purchase agreement has been reached on a piece of property that will eventually hold a state-of-the-art facility that will bring hundreds of jobs to Buffalo.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday an agreement between the state and the city for 88-acres of property that will become the campus of the Buffalo high-tech manufacturing innovation hub being called “Riverbend.”

The site will be home to high-tech and green energy businesses. The investment is expected to create 850 permanent jobs and at least 500 construction jobs. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
