Voters to cast ballots for school board seats

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Changes could be on the way for Buffalo’s struggling schools. The polls opened Tuesday morning, and voters can cast their ballots for three school board seats.

It’s a full ballot, with 13 candidates running: Sergio R. Rodriguez, Gizelle Stokes, Stephen Buccilli, Barbara A. Nevergold, Larry Quinn, Wendy Mistretta, Stephon Wright, Patti Bowers Pierce, John B. Licata, Ralph R. Hernandez, Bernie Tolbert, Adrian Fitzgerald Harris and Samuel P. Davis.

The elections could eventually determine the fate of Superintendent Dr. Pamela Brown.
Current School Board Member Carl Paladino has been pushing to have her removed but would need enough votes from the board.

Polls opened at 6 a.m. and will close at 9 p.m. Tuesday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
