Lockport, NY (WIVB)

The end may be near for a family friendly destination in Lockport.  The owners of Skateland Family Fun Center are facing a huge tax bill that may force them to close by May 19.

Brian and Lori Ferraro have been hosting fundraisers over the past few weeks and were able to raise $20,000 of the $57,000 taxes due.

The Niagara-Gazette reports the couple has been working with the city to possibly team up with other community services to keep the complex open, but apparently there are legal roadblocks that prevent that kind of merger.

Skateland has been operated by the Ferraros for at least three decades.
