AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – Troopers say a man driving 30 miles over the speed limit was drunk.

State Police stopped Nicholas Pope of Williamsville for driving 85 MPH in a 55 MPH zone on I-290 around 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Town of Amherst. Troopers say the 23-year-old showed signs of intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test reportedly revealed Pope’s BAC to be .08 percent.

Pope was arrested for DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is due back in court at a later date.
