Six inmates from two facilities facing new charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Several inmates at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility and Attica Correctional Facility are facing new charges.

State Police charged six inmates in three days for a variety of alleged past actions inside the facilities that range from weapons possession to attacks on officers to attempted murder.

Here is the list, in order of the date on which the alleged incident took place:

Jonathan Russo, 25 – charged with second degree assault. Troopers say on December 11, Russo physically attacked a correctional officer inside the Attica Correctional Facility, causing minor injuries. Russo is currently serving a sentence for first degree attempted assault.

Steven Pak, 20 – charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and third degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers say on January 4, correctional officers found an edged metal weapon inside Pak’s body. He is currently serving a sentence for second degree attempted robbery.

Michael Head, 34 – charged with aggravated assault upon a police or peace officer and six counts of second degree assault. Troopers say on January 22, while at the Attica Correctional Facility, Head attacked correctional officers with an edged metal weapon, causing minor injuries. Head is currently serving a sentence for second degree murder.

Dorian Moore, 43 – charged with first degree attempted murder, first degree promoting prison contraband, and third degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers say on January 31, Moore stabbed an inmate in the chest with an edged metal weapon at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility, causing serious injuries. Moore is currently serving a sentence for second degree murder.

Christian Rivera, 20 – charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and third degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers say on February 6, correctional officers found an edged metal weapon secreted on Rivera’s body while he was housed at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility. He is currently serving a sentence for second degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Kevin Denham, 33 – charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and third degree criminal sale of marijuana. Troopers say while inside the Attica Correctional Facility, Denham had more than 25 grams of packaged marijuana. He is currently serving a sentence for first degree burglary, first degree rape, first degree criminal sexual act and second degree assault.
