BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo School District teamed up with GO Bike Buffalo on Friday for National Bike to School Day.

Last year, Buffalo set the record for having the most participation of any school district in the state, even New York City.

Riders set off from Delaware Park at 7:30 a.m. This is the second year the city’s taken part.

A new report from the U.S. Census Bureau says more people are biking to work with an increase of 60 percent over the last decade. The report’s author cites cities’ investment in bike lanes and bike share program to make commuting easier for cyclists.
