Police: Man was inhaling can of duster with teen before rollover crash

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Jamestown Police say a driver was inhaling a can of duster with his teen-aged passenger shortly before rolling his vehicle on Camp Street.

Officers were first called around 2 p.m. on Friday about a reckless driver operating an SUV that had struck a sign in the area of Bush School on Pardee Avenue. While police were en-route, a report came in that a vehicle had rolled on Camp Street.

Authorities say when they arrived on scene, both 20-year-old Devin Figueroa and his 15-year-old passenger were out of the vehicle and walking around. Police say an investigation determined the pair had been inhaling a can of duster shortly before the crash.

Figueroa was taken into custody and charged with first degree felony reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and failure to keep right.

Police did not say if the 15-year-old will face any charges.
