Teachers learn about the game of golf

KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Educators in the Ken-Ton School District got an education about the game of golf on Friday.

Teachers learned about a program called First Tee, which aims to teach young people healthy habits on the links. After the presentation, teachers said they would take what they learned and pass it on to students.

First Tee of WNY Executive Director Andrew Bennett said, “The goal is to empower the teachers with the knowledge and confidence to go into their gym class, whether or not they play golf or not, to give them the confidence that they can teach this program. And the value of it to their kids in the physical education classes.”

Leaders say many of the values that kids learn in golf are life lessons.
