Troopers stop to assist distraught woman and end up arresting her

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say they meant to assist a pedestrian walking on Wilson Street in Buffalo who appeared to be distraught, but ended up placing her under arrest.

Troopers approached the woman, who was seen walking down the sidewalk around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, who they say appeared to be distraught.

Authorities say the woman, 29-year-old Rebecca Misenheimer of Buffalo, was found to have eight active warrants out for her arrest, including:

Two felony warrants for second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
Three misdemeanor warrants for second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
One misdemeanor warrant for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
One violation warrant for unlawful possession of marijuana
One violation warrant for failure to have a controlled medication in its original container

Misenheimer was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
