Bandits upset Rochester, take 1-0 series lead

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo Bandits scored six goals in the fourth quarter to knock off top-seed Rochester in the NLL East Finals Saturday night, winning 12-8. The Bandits take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Veteran stars John Tavares and Mark Steenhius scored four goals apiece, while Dhane Smith netted the go-ahead score to propel the Bandits to the win.

The two teams will meet again in Game Two next Saturday, May 17th at 7:30pm in Rochester. If the Knighthawks win that game, the two teams will play a ten-minute mini-game to decide which team moves on.
