ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – The trial of a former college hockey star, who’s accused of murdering his girlfriend in her dorm room, is due to begin Monday in Rochester.
Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of Clayton Whittemore who is charged with fatally beating 18-year-old Alexandra Kogut at SUNY Brockport in September 2012.
The trial has seen several delays as attorneys review psychiatric reports. Whittemore claims he was emotionally disturbed at the time of the alleged murder.
The defendant has pleaded not guilty to the charge of second degree murder.
