BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Local leaders say Brand USA will ramp up its efforts to promote tourism to the Buffalo and Niagara Falls region. U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say western New York will be in promotional material, to encourage foreign travelers to visit the area.

The senators say they encouraged the federally-funded entity, that promotes U.S. tourist destinations, to add the region to a list of top tourist destinations.

Brand USA is paying for 15 travel agents from the United Kingdom and Ireland to travel to western New York’s tourist attractions. Leaders say this should lead to additional visitors to the area.
