BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) –  Some major area roadways were backed up Tuesday morning around western New York. As some people traveled to school and work, they needed to find alternative routes to avoid backups.

There were backups on Route 33 West, I-190 South and I-90 East. Later Tuesday morning, roadways in the southern tier were backed up because of flooding.
