Former Bills 1st rounder Maybin retires

Aaron Maybin, one of the biggest draft busts in Bills history, is calling it quits. His CFL team announced his retirement Tuesday.

The Bills drafted Maybin, a pass rusher out of Penn State, 11th overall in the first round in 2009. He lasted just two seasons in Buffalo, failing to register a single sack. The team released him prior to the 2011 season.

Maybin enjoyed a small taste of success with the Jets, but just five years after being chosen in the first round, his football career is already over. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
