Home Depot employees help clean up vandalism at cemetery

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Help is on the way for a Batavia cemetery targeted in three separate vandalism attacks over the past month.

For the next two days, workers from the Home Depot in Batavia will be donating time and materials to help clean-up the Elmwood Cemetery, where vandals pushed over headstones and defaced dozens of graves.

Store manager Domenic Valentino said, “Home Depot is kind of like a family and community, so we do what we can to help out those around us. When we heard this story we thought the right thing to do was come down here with whatever we could.”

Seven Home Depot employees pitched in their time on Tuesday.

So far, no arrests have been made for the vandalism.
