Traffic stops lead to drug charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police worked with Buffalo Police on a strike force detail Monday on Buffalo’s east side. Two drivers ended up being arrested on drug charges after being stopped for traffic violations.

Troopers say they stopped 25-year-old Jeremiah J. Mitchell, of Buffalo, on Wyoming Street because he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. Police claim he had crack cocaine and marijuana. He is now facing drug charges.

On Goodyear Street, police stopped 43-year-old Douglas D. Johnson. They say he was stopped for a suspended registration and ended up being arrested for having a stun gun and two crack pipes.
