Board expected to approve next year’s budget

School board

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Wednesday night’s school board meeting may make a big impact on the district. Members are expected to approve next year’s school budget.

The proposed spending plan is more than $800 million. That doesn’t include about $115 million in grants. The budget calls for adding about 25 additional teachers and restructuring the special education staff.

The board’s meeting is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. This is the first full board meeting since last week’s elections. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
