Human remains found in Cattaraugus Creek identified

PERRYSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say dental records were used to identify human remains found in fast-moving Cattaraugus Creek in the Town of Perrysburg last week.

Dental records identified the person who died as Kimberly Militello of Gowanda. The 59-year-old woman had been reported missing before last Christmas.

Last week, the Seneca Nation Marshall’s Office called troopers about the remains after they were found by a local fisherman. Officers descended into the gorge and removed the remains for testing.
