NORTH HARMONY, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman was traveling with her 3-year-old son when she lost control of her car, Tuesday night. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Mary E. Hetrick, of Jamestown, was driving on Panama Stedman Road when she failed to slow down on a curve.

Officials say she lost control of the vehicle and it went onto the shoulder of the road. Then, her vehicle went back onto the pavement and crossed over the center before it rolled over an embankment. The vehicle landed on its roof.

The 3-year-old was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital as a precaution. Hetrick was treated for apparent minor injuries at WCA Hospital.

Hetrick will answer a speed not reasonable and prudent charge in the Town of North Harmony at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
