Pair accused of letting 20 animals starve to death

ALLEGANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two people are accused of letting 14 cows and six goats starve to death at a property on the southern tier.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says Chris Andera is charged with 14 counts of failure to provide sustenance, food/water to an animal, and Catherine Conhiser-Andera is facing six counts of the same charge.

Investigators say Chris was responsible for the death of the cows on Wing Hollow Road in the Town of Allegany, while Catherine is responsible for the death of the goats. Authorities seized the rest of the livestock, including 12 goats and two male donkeys.

Both are due back in court at a later date.
