Seven accused of unlawful possession of alcohol


ELLINGTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies charged four people with unlawful possession of alcohol and then an hour later charged three more with the same crime.

Authorities stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. on Sunday on 28th Creek Road in the Town of Ellington and say the four passengers inside had been consuming alcohol and had alcohol in their possession. Dontae Clarke, 20, of Brooklyn, as well as Xavier Berrios, 20; Michael Donaldson, 20; and Patrick Lamattina, 19; all of Dunkirk, were cited for unlawful possession of alcohol. All four are due in court at a later date.

The driver of the vehicle was found to have not been drinking and was cited for running a stop sign.

An hour later on West Main Street in the Town of Ellington, deputies stopped a vehicle for failing to signal a turn coming off of 28th Creek Road. Authorities say the three passengers in the vehicle, Franklin Brown, 20, and Tad Battie, 18, both of Salamanca, as well as Jackson John, 20, of Great Valley, admitted consuming and possessing alcohol.
