Ethics committee drops probe into allegations against Gabryszak

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – The State Assembly Committee on Ethics has dropped its investigation into allegations of sexual harassment by a former WNY assemblyman, the Buffalo News reports.

Dennis Gabryszak resigned in January after seven female aides came forward accusing the Democrat from Depew of inappropriate behavior by the assemblyman. The News reports the committee dropped its investigation because they cannot sanction a former lawmaker.

Gabryszak is still facing a lawsuit seeking economic damages, personal injury in the form of emotional distress, and punitive damages. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
