Right now it would appear as though the heaviest rainfall will take place across areas east and south of the Niagara Frontier, however this is still subject to change. Some training of heavy rain showers is anticipated. That is when rain showers continue to develop in a straight line raking localized areas with very heavy rainfall.

Some training produced heavy rainfall from Depew northeastward across parts of Lancaster, Clarence and Newstead Wednesday afternoon and evening. A cooperative weather observer on the Newstead-Clarence line reported 1.70 inches of rainfall, which has left many feeder streams and creeks rain swollen across parts of northeast Erie County.

Even more modest amounts of additional rainfall could easily result in some flooded roadways given the saturated ground. Tune into News 4 and CW23 throughout the evening for updated rainfall and flood forecasts.
