Canisius extends win streak to 16 games

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Canisius baseball is on a tear, extending the nation’s longest winning streak to 16 games this afternoon with a doubleheader sweep against Monmouth.

The Griffs won 9-2 and 16-4 to finish the regular season with a 38-14 record. Highlights from the second game tonight included homeruns from Jake Lumley and Jesse Kelso.

Canisius set a pair of program records with the wins today, with its 16th home win of the season and 20th win in conference play. The Griffs had already locked up the top seed in next week’s MAAC Tournament, carrying at 20-4 conference record into the postseason.
