Intensive search continues for missing boater

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – An intensive search continues for missing boater 60-year-old John Supple, a fisherman from Lewiston who has not been heard from since Wednesday.

Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour tells News 4, the US Coast Guard and Canadian plans are searching portions of Lake Ontario with highly sophisticated search equipment.

Thursday night, a C-130 plan from Canada utilized infrared equipment during a search through the entire night.

Friday, Coast Guard planes out of Detroit and Cape Cod have joined in the search with radar capabilities of detecting even a three-square inch image of a boat.
