Summer Fun 4 Families: Festivals

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)– One of the more popular festivals for families is the Taste of Buffalo, happening July 12 – 13. The same old favorite activities are back, along with some new ones.

“We have our Taste of Fun kids zone this year again. This is a nice little play area for kids where families can go, and new this year we’re going to have Smucker Uncrustable inside, and Go-Go Squeeze are going to give free samples while they last. In addition, We’re going to have this giant mural that kids can color, that’s new this year,” said Ann Hackett, the Chair of the 2014 Taste of Buffalo.

Hackett says there are plenty of sponsors that come down to offer spaces for families, including the Geico bus where children can play games, and the Tops Wheel Spin.

This year, the Taste is offering something new called Family Freebies.  Starting June 15, you can purchase $50 worth of Taste food vouchers, then bring them to any food tent at the Taste Festival to receive another voucher for four, free, non-alcoholic beverages.

Buffalo Police and Fire will be at the site again this year, showing children how to be safe and letting the kids inside their cars and trucks.

Landies Candies will be back again too, after winning the 2013 award for Best Overall Product with its Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
