ROCHESTER, NY (WIVB) – The Bandits were one game away from heading to the NLL championship game, holding a 1-0 series lead going into Saturday night’s game in Rochester. On Saturday the Rochester Knightshawks defeated the Bandits 13-8 and then went on to beat Buffalo in a mini tiebreaking game, 2-1.

Buffalo started the second game of a two-game series strong, going up 3-1 early. The Knighthawks were just too much for the Bandits, leading 10-5 at the half and ultimately tying the series at 1 with a 13-8 win.

In order to decide the series the two teams played a mini game where Cory Vitarelli scored the game-winning goal in sudden death.

Rochester will face Calgary in the NLL championship. The Knighthawks have the chance to win an unprecedented third-straight title. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
