BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – People formed a human chain in Buffalo to remind everyone about the continuing problem of poverty.
For 15 minutes, thousands of people linked hands up and down Ferry Street from Niagara Street to Bailey Avenue. It’s based on a 1986 demonstration held across the country called Hands Across America.
“Too many times, when, we look at what divides us rather than what unites us, we’re looking at our diversity as something that unifies us. This is the melting pot that America was built on, Buffalo was built on the melting pot, and we need to unite in order to move forward,” said Dale Zuchlewski, with Hands Across Buffalo.
There were also community events and workshops for the people who took part in today’s event.
