23 animals removed from Cheektowaga home

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – During a raid at a home on Cherokee Drive in Cheektowaga last Friday, SPCA investigators say they removed 23 animals.

Officers say the home owned by Gary Bulger held 20 cats and three dogs, all of which were living in deplorable conditions.

Debby Williams, SPCA Veterinary Services Manager, said, “The dogs and cats were living in their own feces and squalor. The cats were covered in excrement. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. We were all in a state of shock when they came in.”

Bulger is charged with 18 counts of animal cruelty. He is due in Cheektowaga Town Court on May 28.
