Officials to focus on seat belt checks this week

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – “Click it or ticket” is the message from Erie County Sheriff’s deputies. All this week deputies will be out on area roadways, making sure you and your passengers are wearing your seat belts.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,  more than half of the people killed in car crashes are not wearing seat belts. On their website, they list statistics about seat belts, to encourage drivers and passengers to buckle up.
