BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Approximately 7,000 runners are expected to participate in the Buffalo Marathon this weekend. The race begins bright and early Sunday at 7 a.m.

Runners will notice some changes, including at the start line, that has been moved to Franklin and Chippewa Streets downtown. The course was changed due to construction on Ohio Street.

There’s a new 5k run, and a new policy allowing security to inspect all bags for anyone entering a race venue.

Residents of the neighborhoods included in the marathon will want to take note of street closures to plan accordingly.
