Fire breaks out on Breckenridge Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo fire investigators are working Tuesday morning to figure out what caused an overnight fire. News 4 was there as firefighters fought a house fire Breckenridge Street, near Grant Street. It broke out just after midnight.

The fire appeared to have started in the second floor and moved to the attic. Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to the two adjacent homes. Neighbors in the homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Reports from the scene indicate no one was living in the home. The fire caused approximately $45,000 in damage. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
