CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Katrina Buczkowski is equally admired for her friendly demeanor and her intense work ethic.

The star pitcher at Clarence High School manages to balance AP courses while playing softball year-round.

“I think it’s staying focused and staying motivated because I do’nt take a lot of time to do nothing,” she said.

Buczkowski maintains a 4.0 GPA.

“I like to challenge myself and I like to be the best that I can be,” she said.

On the field, she has a laundry list of accolades, including Western New York All-Region First Team. She’ll continue her softball career at Ramapo College of New Jersey.

“I want to play softball as long as I can. I know there is not an NBA or anything like that for softball but as long as I can I want to.”
