Erie County to host free rabies vaccine clinic

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – As summer approaches, pets are eager to spend more time outside. Make sure your pet stays healthy this summer.

Wednesday, Erie County is hosting a free rabies clinic. It’s happening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1041. That’s on Amherst Street, in Buffalo.

Erie County law requires all cats and dogs to be vaccinated against rabies. So far this year, four wild animals have tested positive for the disease.  That number is expected to rise and the weather gets warmer. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
